Apple has introduced a range of new products in the past 2 months. In his keynote presentation on 7th of September, Tim Cook the CEO of Apple, introduced iPhone7, iPhone7+, Airpods and Apple Watch 2. Also, more recently a group of more appealing products were introduced which included the new Macbook Pro and Macbook Air.
To name a few features, the new phones are water resistant, have no headphone jack, have surround sound and have a new and developed processor. However, the feature that was highlighted the most in the presentation was a Dual Lens 21 Megapixel DSLR Quality Camera. Though the features are great but I feel that they are a copy of those of Samsung Galaxy S7 and the price is relatively higher.
Cost: Rs. 58,000 - Rs. 72,000
The Airpods are wireless earphones which were introduced to do away with the headphone jack in iPhone7. The truly amazing part about these pods is that when they are placed in their box, they recharge themselves even though their battery life is 24 hours.
Cost: Rs. 15,400
The Apple Watch 2 has it’s own GPS, is water resistant and has a new and faster processor. The main feature is that the watch strongly supports the 'health factor' and has particular apps for measuring breathing rate, heart rate and work out. Also, a new range of bands were released to accompany the watch.
Cost: Rs. 25,000-Rs. 35,000
The latest range of laptops include the new MacBook Pro and the new MacBook Air which are fitted with a stronger processor- 3.8GHz turbo boost processing. A new and exciting feature in the laptops is that the ‘Function Keys’ now use OLED technology and have the touch screen function. Though the letdown is that the 'Apple Logo' on the laptop will no longer glow like it used to in the previous MacBooks.
MacBook Pro Cost: Rs. 1,10,000 - Rs. 1,75,000
MacBook Air Cost: Rs. 65,000 - Rs. 85,000
Overall, Apple has yet again wooed its customers by innovative range of products, but the high cost and some similarities with existing brands may be the let-downs for Apple.
